Brian Brennan is the Leadership Group’s Senior Vice President for Investor Relations and State and Federal Coalitions. In this role, Brian leads the Leadership Group’s recruiting efforts and works with each member firm to design customized engagement strategies that fit its priorities, size and culture.
When he joined the Leadership Group in 2008, Brian brought with him an extensive policy background. He worked for several years on political development programs for the U.S. Agency for International Development in Russia, and served with international affairs nonprofit organizations in California, Texas and Mexico. Brian has written on California politics and policy for The San Francisco Chronicle, The Monterey County Herald and Oxford Analytica, and served as an adjunct professor of political science at San Jose State University. He has also long been active in his community, and has served as Vice Chair of the Santa Clara County Senior Care Commission and as a member of the City of Campbell Planning Commission. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Heritage Theater, and a member of the Parish Council of the St. Lucy’s Catholic Church. In 2011, Brian was named to the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list of young Silicon Valley leaders to watch.
Brian earned a BA with honors in American Studies from Stanford University, a Master in Public Affairs from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School, and a DPhil in Comparative Government from the University of Oxford. A Monterey County native, Brian now lives in Campbell with his wife Wendy and three children.
