Rafael De La Rosa is the Director of Government Relations for the Silicon Valley Leadership Group. In this capacity, he promotes and advances the Leadership Group’s priorities by working with elected officials, state leaders, coalition partners, and member company government relations representatives. Working closely with these groups, he helps align the goals of the Leadership Group by facilitating forums, discussions and advocacy trips to Sacramento and Washington DC. The Leadership Group focuses on advancing legislation that supports the growth of the innovation economy.
Before joining the Leadership Group, Rafael was Legislative Director to Assemblymember Matthew Dababneh (AD-45), Chairman of the Banking and Finance Committee for the California State Assembly. He served as lead staffer to Assemblymember Dababneh overseeing issues relating to the financial services sector as well as business and consumer protection concerns.
Additionally, before joining Assemblymember Dababneh’s staff in Sacramento, he worked as a Legislative Assistant on Capitol Hill for Congressman Brad Sherman (CA-30) who is a senior member of the House Financial Services Committee.
He is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles and was born and raised in Ventura, California.
