Business Leadership on Sustainability
in a Brave New World

Overview

2016 was officially the warmest year on record, with temperatures almost 2 degrees Fahrenheit higher than the pre-industrial level. The year also brought change to Washington, with many uncertain or fearful of what is to come.

California has vowed to continue to lead on climate and environmental issues. And business has, in many ways, taken responsibility for advancing the sustainability agenda over the last decade. For example, recent surveys show 85% of executives believe climate change is real and more than 90% of CEOs believe that sustainability is important to a company’s profits.

What are companies doing to address sustainability? And given the uncertain and uneven policy and regulatory environment, what are their plans going forward?

Join Us!

Join us on May 25 at the Oracle Conference Center for the 5th annual Silicon Valley Energy and Sustainability Summit (#ESS17) to explore how to employ the latest innovative technologies and practices to create lasting value and learn what leading businesses are doing to address the sustainability imperative.

We are excited to reveal our agenda!

6th Annual Regional Economic Forum

Thursday, June 15, 2017

7:15am – 12:15pm

The Computer History Museum

1401 N Shoreline Blvd, Mountain View

About the Event

The Silicon Valley Regional Economic Forum is one of the 16 regional forums in the state of California to help identify economic competitiveness issues of the region. In partnership with local organizations, we produce this event to discuss the issues that matter to us most.

The results from the forums are funneled up to a state wide summit or Capitol day to identify the issues facing the state. All of these efforts work to streamline legislation for the most pressing issues of the state.

We have three panels this year focused on SOLUTIONS. Our three panels are Transportation, Immigration and Workforce Housing. Some of this year’s panelists include:

Transportation Solutions Panel

Immigration Solutions Panel

Workforce Housing Solutions Panel

Celebrate the Silicon Valley Leadership Group’s
40th Anniversary!

#40YearsOfLeadership

Friday, July 28, 2017
6:30pm
San Jose Marriott
301 S. Market St
San Jose, 95113

________________________________________________________________________

On Friday evening, July 28, the Silicon Valley Leadership Group will celebrate our first 40 years of making a positive, proactive impact on our region, state and nation . . . while looking forward to our next 40 years.

It was July of 1977 when our Founder, David Packard, brought together 32 other Valley visionaries and created the Leadership Group.  We believe it’s worth celebrating – and celebrating with style.  We are encouraging our guests to bring spouses/significant others, as our evening will be “short on formal program” and “long on fun.”

With a theme of “Winning Together,” we welcome your presence  to help us celebrate these wins. Whether it is recent successes – “Winning Together” – like the $647 million in federal funds for Caltrain electrification, last November’s transportation sales tax initiatives (Measure B in Santa Clara County & Measure D in Santa Cruz County), or last June’s Measure AA to restore the San Francisco Bay, our first 40 years have made a positive impact on our economy and quality of life. Come join the celebration.

We have limited sponsorship opportunities available for the 40th Anniversary Gala. Please contact Shannon Johnson, Director, Events at sjohnson@svlg.org or (408)453-4753.
