Housing & Land Use Committee

The Leadership Group’s Land Use & Housing Committee (LUC) aims to preserve and increase the quality of life and economic vibrancy of Silicon Valley by increasing opportunities for workers and residents to secure affordable homes, proximate to their work.

Specifically, the Housing & Land Use Committee seeks to:

  • Increase Supply: Encourage the construction of compact developments—rental and for sale—in appropriate locations—near transit, jobs and services—in order to protect open space and prime agricultural land and maximize public infrastructure investments. Pursue goal in a manner that enhances economic vitality.
  • Increase Homeownership: Expand the ability of Silicon Valley employees to purchase an affordable home near their work.
  • Adequate Funding: Advocate for an appropriately scaled and stable funding stream for housing at the local, state and federal level.
  • Eliminate/Reduce Barriers and increase incentives to facilitate the above goals.
