Young Women’s Leadership Summit

1

The Silicon Valley Leadership Group regularly holds The Young Women’s and Young Men’s Leadership Summits to help empower young girls and boys from local under-resourced schools. These events are opportunities for adults from local companies and non-profit organizations to interact with students, with the goal to expose and engage students in careers and career planning, mentors and the importance of a robust education in science and technology.

Every year approximately 400 middle school girls and 150 female executives and rising stars attend Young Women’s Leadership Summit, a conference that encourages middle school girls to pursue careers in STEM fields and leadership. Throughout the day, students listen to women share inspirational stories and participate in a hands-on-STEM activity. The 2015 and 2016 Summits took place at Levi’s Stadium. Past keynotes include Maria Shriver and Four-time Olympian and Stanford athlete, Brenda Villa. Previous speakers include Representative Zoe Lofgren, Attorney General Kamala Harris, Carly Fiorina, Shelly Kapoor Collins and Julia Hartz.

The next Young Women’s Leadership Summit will be held Friday, December 1st, 2017.
