The mission of the Transportation Policy Committee (TPC) is to help assure Silicon Valley’s long-term economic health and quality of life by increasing the ease by which Silicon Valley employees, residents and cargo move through and within the Valley and to do so in a manner that minimizes our impact on the environment.
Specifically, the Transportation Committee seeks to:
- Expand the quality of our transportation system (reach, modes, inter-connectivity);
- Maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of our transportation system;
- Reduce transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions; and
- Advance related organizational goals, such as protecting open space, advancing transit-oriented development, promoting health and wellness, and improving the quality of our air and water.
BART to Silicon Valley (Phase 2): Focus Phase 2 funding plans at the federal and state levels.
Transit & Rail: Pursue efficient, effective & sustainable transit to serve the region, particularly BART & Caltrain, and advocate for sustainable pricing policies.
Vehicle Innovation: Encourage the adoption of advanced technology to “green” our vehicle fleet, enhance mobility & promote sustainable transportation.
Active Transportation: Promote active transportation modes like biking and walking.
Regional Traffic Relief: Assist San Francisco and Santa Cruz Counties with passing transportation measures.
2016 Santa Clara County Transportation Measure: Build a coalition, define expenditure plan and conduct polling on a potential measure.
Superbowl Transportation: Help coordinate regional transportation agencies in preparation for Superbowl 50 at Levi Stadium
Airport: Increase service to Silicon Valley (SJC) to better link the region & support the fiscal sustainability of the airport.
