SAN JOSÉ, CA (July 28, 2022) — Mary Holing, VP of Environmental Policy at the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, issued the following statement today in response to the announcement of a deal to include more than $360 billion in clean energy and climate provisions in the inflation reduction package.
“We’re greatly encouraged by the deal struck by Senators Schumer and Manchin to take bold and necessary climate action as part of the broader inflation reduction package.
If enacted, these provisions would represent a significant investment—as much as $369 billion—in our clean energy future that will grow our economy and provide certainty to SVLG member companies that are scaling the solutions we need to fight climate change.
As energy prices rise and temperatures soar, we urge Congress to ensure that these provisions remain part of the final package.”
