Young Leaders Forum
Since 2008, the Young Leaders Series has served thousands of historically underrepresented students at the Young Women’s and Young Men’s Leadership Forums. The event serves students attending historically under-resourced schools, particularly students of color, in grades 6th-8th. The key purpose of the Forum is to empower, encourage, and expose students to the breadth of opportunities available to them through education, with a special focus on STEM and the variety of careers facilitated through STEM education.
With this year’s focus on young women, the forum will be virtual, with 200+ anticipated students tuning in from different schools around the Bay Area. In a field that is predominantly men, the guest speakers will be sharing their stories not only about overcoming fear in the face of adversity but also encouraging this young women to normalize the need to make science, technology, engineering and math fun and appealing to young students.
